Comprehensive Evaluations for ADHD, Autism, and Learning Disabilities
We conduct comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational evaluations for attention and learning problems, including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and specific learning disabilities. Evaluations for autism are also provided. Comprehensive evaluations typically involve a thorough diagnostic interview, individualized testing, and a feedback session. Following the evaluation, we will write a detailed report that will be mailed to the client.
During the testing, the client works one-on-one with one of our psychologists, who will personally administer assessments to address the areas of concern. Examples of assessments include tests of intellectual abilities, academic achievement, memory, and learning.
Gifted and Intellectual Testing
Specific schools and giftedness programs may require testing for admission. Giftedness testing involves assessment of intellectual ability only or intellectual ability plus academic achievement. Additional testing to address other concerns may also be included.
Kindergarten/School Readiness Testing
Some families require school readiness evaluations to determine whether their child qualifies for early admission to kindergarten or first grade. Kindergarten/School Readiness Testing may involve assessment of the following domains of functioning:
Mental ability
Gross and fine motor skills
Auditory discrimination
Visual discrimination
Social-emotional development
Individual Therapy/Counseling
Therapy is offered for children and teens using research-based interventions.
Parent Support and Training
Parent training and support for parents of children with autism and other behavioral concerns is available. Our team provides information and support following a diagnosis of autism or other developmental delay to help parents make decisions about the next steps for their child and to help them learn skills to help their children thrive.
Consultations and Follow-up Service
Some clients may wish to meet with a psychologist before deciding whether to schedule a comprehensive evaluation or in order to review results of previous evaluations. We provide consultation services to meet this need.
